    Posted: 09 Jan 2018 at 16:08
Hi all,

I've just bought a Breva 11 which I intend to keep for quite a few years.  Being aware of the potential dash misting issue for future peace of mind I'd like to buy a spare dash panel and wondered what other models would fit? Would for example, the one from the Breva 1200 or 1200 Sport work on my bike?

I know they'll physically fit being virtually identical, but are they plug and play, or is there something I should take into consideration such as their compatibility with my bikes ECU?

The coding for the keys is in the dash. Might give a little headache.

If you look in our FAQ section you will find how to cure the misting problem.

Hello Brian and thank's for the reply.

I did wonder about the key coding issue.  I'll check the FAQ's to learn more of course, I currently have the opportunity to buy a good second hand unit 'just in case' but it's from a 1200 model hence the question.

I know the handlebar controls for the dash are different on the early 1100 to the later 1200, but don't know if that affects the dash itself. The Norge dash is also similar.
I've never had any misting problems on my Norge dash in 9 years.

If you do get problems with your dash ask Scorpio Electronics to have a look, its their speciality.

Hi Gent's, I'm new here in the forum and have already a question somebody could possibly help me with.
Last week when transporting my Breva 1100 to a workshop it fell almost from the truck and my dashboard was damaged. now I found another one (new) in Italy from a 1200 which the workshop now installed. They got it working as the dash was a new one with original code an even one of my keys is working. Everything seems to run except that the 1200 one does not have a low petrol indicator lamp and the anti-theft indicator lamp. Now the workshop says that there must be a different connection layout on the dash as the left and right indicators work but they can't be switched off.
Does anyone have an idea if the wiring of the 1100 and the 1200 is different or can another bug cause this?

I wold appreciate any feedback!

Cheers!

The dash that you have fitted is the wrong one (ask me how I know) for your bike
There are two differing types of dash with corresponding differences in how they are operated. Your Breva will have the push button operated left hand handlebar switch whereas the dash you have fitted comes from a later model Norge etc. which have joystick type device on the left handlebar.
The handlebar switches can be changed but require some serious work in the main loom as there are extra wires for the joystick type switches.
I did exactly the same as you on my 1200 Sport and also had indicators that wouldn`t turn off . I am afraid you will need another dash from a bike with the same operating switch as yours ie. push button, sorry to be the bearer of bad news
Apart from the breva the 1200 Sport 2 valve will fit, not sure what other models have the push button

One more question. Is the joystick issue related to the programming (so it should be solved by transferring all datas from my old dash, or is it an issue of a different pin occupation?

I seem to remember there are three extra wires in the sub loom from the handlebar on the joystick models that plug into the main loom. These wires are not present on the Breva or my 1200 Sport in the main loom. I worked out that all the extra wires ended up at the dash but I think at least one made its way via the ECU    It has nothing to do with the programming of the dash more the pin usage.

There is a `as new` dash for sale on this site for £195 + shipping, although it`s a UK model it does have a Km dial as well and could be reset to read Km on the odometer. Check out Guzzi parts for sale it was there yesterday

Thanks a lot for the replys gents! 195 sounds ok, at the moment, but the guy I brought mine from is also very helpful and offered some other options. Maybe I'm going for it and send the other one back. Will check tomorrow.

Have a good night!
