very used pair of rear brake shoes
I am looking to buy a new pair as replacement.

When you say very used, presumably you mean the linings are badly worn. You can get them relined as one alternative.

I can recommend Friction Services in Keynsham for shoe relining.  Full set of V7 Sport shoes with Ferodo linings cost me £8.50 per shoe, but they do need the wheels to machine the shoes to size.

Another recommendation would be Villiers Services. I've used them several times with good results.

The new linings should be turned down to fit the drum in an ideal world. Obviously that won't be the case with new shoes.

Villiers do ask for the drum ID and select the linings accordingly. I usually take the whole lot to them although if you're not in striking distance of the Black Country this may be tricky.

Classic Brake Services of Whaley Bridge also have an excellent reputation and will skim the drum (in the wheel) if required. Only a FB link I'm afraid: https://www.facebook.com/classic-brake-services-155526241157730/

If Gutsibits sells the same brake shoes as other retailers (Stein-Dinse, MG Cycle) then the shoes will need to be arced to match the drum and the alloy casting leaves much to be desired.

Better to have your original shoes relined.

Thanks,
the relining shops are slightly far from me (SE London),
new shoes is my best solution but.. is it a straight fit and ride?
Thanks

As Charlie (Ambo Man) has stated, new shoes will have to be arced, or once assembled to the brake plate the shoes will not enter the drum.I have had this scenario with the 4 leading shoe front brake on my 850GT.
If you can accurately measure the internal diameter of your brake drum and the outside diameter of the fitted shoes minus the existing worn linings, supply the figures along with the shoes to Villiers they can re-line your brake shoes and post them back to you at a very reasonable price.
The only circumstance where it would be "fit and ride" as far as I can see would be if your drum has been skimmed in the past. Without measuring you are unlikely to know if it has or not.

Good luck.

Plus 1 for Friction Services. I have used them quite. a few times but never taken the wheel for them to match up, I'm too tight! Perhaps that's why my brakes are always terrible

Try a google search for brake shoe relining. You never know, there might be a place nearer.

Maybe you’ve already done it, but in my experience you will struggle to get the rear shoes out. There is a special tool shown in Greg Bender’s site. The return springs are really strong!

Thanks for the Auto Industrial link Brian. They are fairly close to me and I shall need to reline my brakes before long. There service looks to be just the job.
