Regrettably I am perhaps not a gentleman!? So the poor Guzzi is tucked up next to a flymo?

Just remember that, "Winter is Coming", especially living so close to the Wall

That's fighting talk where I come from! Wink
It's refreshing to learn mechanical aspirations lean towards four wheels, even if it's an MGB!
How's the Guzzi coming on?
The Rs regrettably is living up to her traditional Guzzi reputation..... Oil weeping from a number of extremities and now, frustratingly, a slipping clutch. If there's one thing I despise is an oil leak!!! I feel a strip down is imminent.
At least I have my super reliable four wheel friend to avert frustration......

Ice and Fire, I like the metaphor. You are surely a man of discerning taste. I had a black Beta Coupe in the day, that is until she started losing weight. Pretty little thing, she was.

Black Beauty is still in her boudoir, she now has new earrings, but she also seems a touch moist, but oh what fun it is, "too browse in that blouse"

Discerning taste? A soft spot for Latin approach certainly.
The Beta Coupe was so underrated! My Dad had a wonderful Gold one which similarly decided upon an anorexic diet of UK salt and shedding of weight....Such a good car though. That twin cam pulled like a train and handling balance, like most Lancias, defied the laws of physics!! 😋

She was black with a gold interior (fur coat but no knickers) but I loved her for a while. May have a photo somewhere.

Remember "Winter is Coming" that's what oil leaks are for, to fill our lonely nights LOL

Greetings and salutations...... What a week of simply dismal climatic indifference!
Summer seems so long ago...... Sifting through some old mechanical images to combat the winter blues which sparked the notion as to whether you have any Beta images you could share? 😊

Hi nice to hear from you, I am afraid not, the photo I have was just that, a photo, so unfortunately no way to send it electronically, it was some years ago.

How are you and the lady of the lake getting on.

Black Beauty and I are still getting to know each other, no need for new joints yet, but some small details being attended to. Think I have found the source of some of her black tears, the oil pipes to the heads swivel around the central banjo union so a new one has been sourced. Her cables and wiring are being made to fit correctly as Monseigneur Carlo intended and Mr Creedon has graciously sent over some medicine for her early morning cough. Currently about to interfere with her suspenders, when I mentioned it to her, she just smiled knowingly. I am beginning to think she has played this game before. Wink. For now she seems content to sit on the bench provocatively, I think that she prefers a warmer climate

She's a beauty even with her clothes on!  From this view I'm intrigued by the complexity of the air box to keep her two large jugs happy!

Greetings Steve......

Re four wheeled Latin exotica....... shall happily, and patiently, wait until perhaps I might gaze upon your images in person?

As for the lady of the Lakes..... She is nearly there. Clutch slip sourced to an overfilled gearbox of the oil variety. Oil returning through the centre clutch actuator rod and into the bell housing. Two new seals fitted as a matter of course. Forward moisture sourced to the left bank camshaft oil seal. Weeping on the left cylinder a failed head gasket..... Nearly there, possibly a fire up for in or around Christmas.  😋

A question re your Black beastie...... Are you intending to delete the hideous air box prior to Mr Creedon's electronic trickery? I would wholeheartedly recommend that you do as it is a hateful restrictive series of awkward angles and unnecessary complications.....

Keep us posted on progress. Spring will be here eventually! Mark

LOL .. LOL  I would hope the designers had good reasons for making it look like that, not just playing with shapes on a computer. "What stupid looking shape do we fancy messing about with today?" LOL

I am frequently amused by posts like this. Just a couple of days ago someone posted on the American Ural forum, he took the inlet 'spout' off his airbox, as he's convinced the apparently small cross section area of the mouth must be resticting the air flow. Well patently not, if the stock set-up can still make peak power at max rpm on a dyno. (There are graphs showing it.)

LOL

Believe it or not a lot of design in motors was done with a length of string.

Particularly hoses.

AGREED!  More power can be lost or gained at the airbox than typically at the exhaust making its' design important.  Sometimes there can be a sound or emission standard compromise, but you have to be good to beat the resources of the factory engineers!  BTW my stock airbox (with cool air snorkel to the front of the bike) is still doing a good job producing good top end speed on my 86' Lemans even if it is a bit of a pain to change.
