The rocker covers would be different than those fitted too, I think? And the rear light? Side covers (I thought they came with the 'boxes' as on the 850T, but that might just be the examples I've seen)? Swan neck clip-ons vs. handlebars? I wonder if genuine S3 owners/experts can see anything else?

I'd want to be super-certain that I'm not buying a tarted-up T3, I think. Alternatively, if I were "a respected Italian super bike specialist" I'd have gone the extra mile to make sure I had a truly representative specimen. Sorry about the suspicious mind!

Having said that, it's a good look for a T3.

It would be interesting to know the frame and engine numbers.
I think the engine has the correct rocker covers.  The S3 basically used the T3 engine and had the later type rocker covers and exhaust clamps.  Rear light is correct  Side panels are correct.
Odd items to me are...No dust covers on forks / no clip ons / oversize front tyre / wrong front indicators / tragic seat / rear mudguard angle / modified side stand / silencers.
But if it's got the correct frame number VK2 15000 - 15988 and engine VK 35000 - VK 36200, then with a cosmetic refurb it could be wonderful.

Just the clip-ons , seat and silencer wrong to my eyes but there is no photo of instrument panel ...the body is very rusty.
I’d imagine 7.5k on ebay with a bit of haggling in person but a good example went for 10.5k earlier this year.

As always check paperwork is in same name as person selling.
Ask to see driving licence and passport to check name to address.

IKWYM
I like the look of it but something is not right and it’s bugging me.
Exhausts, seat, brake lines and horns non standard.
Is the paint scheme correct, the stripe on the side panels looks to thin??

But I’m no expert, happy to be educated

I looked at this when it came up but too many things wrong especially at this price. Spent 2 years doing a nut and bolt resto on an S3 and this needs a bit of money. Seat and shark fin exhausts are over £1k alone. Should have clip ons (goosenecks on a 750s). Rear taillight looks broken and why gold? A set of matching front indicators are pricey if you can find them. Clutch cable has cut out switch removed so someone has had to alter the electrics. I can’t figure out if there’s an airbox but the inlet manifolds have only one gasket which may explain the unusual angle of the carbs. Rust on the tank near badge tells you its a bad paint job, hate to see inside of the tank. The brake cable stay on the mudguard (RHS) looks right and you can’t find them as they are only in the S3. Front discs don't look original. Only way to check S3 is through engine/frame numbers. I would not buy without seeing underneath the tank and seat. If it looks like that on the outside, id hate to see whats underneath. Can’t figure out why something with so few miles has had so many alterations though.

Nice project for the next two years though, at the right price.

My guess is it is not an 750 S3.

Looks like an handlebar on the poor quality photos, not even swan-neck clipons or basic clipons.
I think the S3 has narrower triple clamps without handlebar mounts like the V7 Sport and 750S...

I think the market is depressed, I would not trust phony bidders pushing the prices up
