Maybe volunteering somewhere?
Using her llife's skills to help others?

But no, I'm not brave enough either. Mine is still working, should I be grateful that they raised the retirement age for women?

Thanks for the replies, sorry i could have been clearer
I knew that the rear mudguard was different on each but you can just buy that and swap it onto the early bike.
I wanted to know how to distinguish the first one from a ‘fake’

Are Engine / frames numbers the only way or were there’s other subtle differences?

Can't think of other differences offhand. I seem to think there might be but can't think what. Proper early frame No.s are VE11111 to VE13040 (1975 - 1976) according to my info.

As anyone else seen the trio of Le Mans on Ebay with starting prices of £906, £997 & £1,195 all with buy it now prices of £3,800. Same person(s) managed to put 1488 items for sale in about an hour. Could be me but I think not all is as it seems. Also I think ebay may have just cottoned on.

Reported as fraudulent _on eBay_. That generally sees them soon "gorn". And gives eBay the info needed to spot the new, ever-changing scammer tactics.

What annoys me is that particular user has been posting fake listings on ebay for over 2 years. I reported a Honda Lawnmower with the exact same style of scam and contact method and it pops up again and again. These Guzzis have been posted and taken down 3 times this week alone! Ebay jjust seems to do nothing to stamp it out.

Different user account every time, in my experience. They hijack legit accounts somehow, but the content of the item is usually similar, as is the fact that they generally are selling hundreds of classic exotica all at the same time and all at wonderfully low prices.

They keep changing their tactics slightly, and eBay need to adapt to that. Continuing to report the listings as fraudulent to eBay, as a genuine eBay user, will help them to that end.

It’s a pet hate of mine and I’ve got fed up of reporting them. They’re easy enough to spot, location usually ‘at Uk’, ridiculous buy it now price with email address etc. eBay should be doing more to stop this as it ruins my lunchtime classic car and bike surfing! I even get these fake listings emailed to me from eBay in the new items notifications!

I am so unhappy with Ebay that I have stopped shopping there. They just do not care for the integrity of the vendors.
A typical scam is a vendor stating he is base din the UK, when you buy the delivery is late, it turns out it comes from China. When you give a negative review they offer you a refund, I think that even gets them off the hook.
It's amazon or others for me now.

I've had similar when something very cheap didn't turn up. As soon as I complained the sale was cancelled and my money returned. Clearly they work on many people forgetting about their £1.99 order.

On the other hand I have had lots of stuff come (eventually) from China and do buy & sell privately with mostly good results. Same as any market really.

I did have one small item which failed to turn up. Vendor sent a replacement, which also failed to arrive. I then got a refund.

I had one attempt at selling a bike on Ebay, and was discouraged from returning.
On the other hand, I´ve bought a double bass and a tenor sax direct from China at fantastic prices, and been delighted, I also use Chinese guitars and ukuleles which are excellent quality for the money. My American banjo was probably four times the price of an equivalent Chinese instrument. (Damn!).
Any musical instrument reveals it´s quality immediately it´s played,  there´s no faking it.
Just as Japanese bikes surprised a complacent Europe, Chinese instruments are making a name for themselves, and no other country even comes close.

I'm glad you are enjoying your Chinese instruments Ben but I can't agree about their guitars. I have a number of acoustic guitars including a couple from China.Beautifully made as some of them are they can't compare for sound with my American ones. The tradition of guitar building in the USA is strong. Not sure about China.
