Not sure of the point of that petition. I think you should read this as policy is pretty much already in favour of motorcycle, taxis and bicycles using bus lanes.

Not sure of the point? In Aylesbury I can ride in all the bus lanes. Just a few miles away, in Oxford, I'd get nicked for doing that self-same thing.

If nothing else, sign it so that we have some consistency in application.

"Guidelines" mean absolutely nothing in this situation.
Try getting off a fine by saying the guidelines said I could do it.

As Barry said, lets have some consistancy. If you travel around a bit you just cannot tell whether you can or not without staring at the tiny signs. Crazy situation.

I must admit, I dont like riding in bus lanes, overtaking on the inside makes me a little nervous, I prefer trickling down the outside on a motorcycle, at least I can see the drivers ayes in the wing mirror

Having scanned that leaflet, I would not say that it is clearly recommending the use of bus lanes by PTWs, but suggests that it is up to the local authority and is full of caveats. We should still be signing the petition.

We live near Sheffield where motorcycles may use bus lanes.

Personally, I rarely do. I consider the risk of a car driver turning left into my path too great.

Many car drivers will not look for motorcycles or push bikes coming up in the inside.

I thought it would be nice with the ducks.

But then I live now in the dark north for my sins.

+1 for consistency. Was in London yesterday and using the bus lanes made for safe and speedy travel where I could BUT I had to keep alert as only some Boroughs allow it and I have been caught out before!
