Been using a micro fleece from Screwfix for my work as a gardener and very impressed.

Works great on the bike as well. Lightweight, warm, fits easily under my jacket, zips up close round the neck to trap my Buff and even has thumb holes in the sleeves so you can feed your arm inside your jacket without losing cuff! Folds up quite small to fit in your rucksack if you need to lose a layer during the day. Washes well and dries relatively easily.

Great value at £11.99 - I paid over £40 I think some years ago for a similar top from EDZ

Tried to post a link to the item but can't seem to do it.

Item on Screwfix website is:

'SITE' BEECH MICROFLEECE PULLOVER BLACK MEDIUM (6697d)

Good tip, and timely, ta. Just started adding the layers (back) into the mix on the last couple of rides, it being the season...

The trouble with those (and most microfleeces) is the short zip which means you have to pull it on over your head which I hate. The only microfleece with a full length zip I've found is a Regatta one.

Yet I prefer those as I regard these as a fleece shirt and the full zip (and often pockets) adds bulk for packing and when tucking it in your trousers!

For lightweight (100/m2) fleece with full length zip I can recommended this Jack Wolfskin on offer from Cotswold Outdoor.
