not long had my first moto guzzi 750 Nevada 1994 how do I check the oil level in the bevel. i.e do I put it on its center stand and take out the level plug or do I have to lift the drive shaft up to its level then check the level any help would be great.

Well the quantity is 170ml, so you can always measure it.
I've always just checked the level on the centre stand.

Guzziology suggests that you ensure that the swinging arm is horizontal (which with my V50 would mean with the rear units off or a very heavy person sitting on it). If you look at where the level plug is, in the normal position on the centre stand, the plug is well below where the level would be.

But putting the correct amount in seems to be the best plan.

With all my Guzzis I measure the correct oil and fill. With the Engine it is then good advice to put dipstick in and mark the level then you know where it is and you can choose to have bike on centre stand and it'll be right ...what I did was also measure the org marks and put the lower level in there too Bevel box is a pain to get the level from the plug ...

The Older i Get, The Better I Was
