Just had a call from the boy in the bike shop who were fixing my leaky bevel box. It's mullered...bearings have exploded and taken out the crown wheel.. Mo money!

Before I trawl the internet has anyone got one lying in a corner of a garage?  John

I know he is in France (not your favourite place at the moment), but I believe he does dispatch to the UK

I wouldn’t say “stupidity” probably more enthusiasm to get over here on a bike. It could easily cloud your judgmentThumbs UpThumbs Up

I have been down to Reboot a couple of times and he is a nice chap to talk to and, has an amazing amount of spares. Not too expensive for what I was after.

A bit cheaper than the US ones Graham.  But.....i've seen a pair of wheels and axle for sale locally. Will people still talk to me if I trike the Cali?

Don’t see why not, but wouldn’t insurance be potentially be  problematic if it’s a DIY kit.
I would assume any insurer would want an engineers report at least based on on personal experience of “modifications” I have declared to both bike and car insurance companies in the past.

Ok folks. A sort of update. I had 3 options after finding out that the bevel box was kaput. Buy the one on Ebay for £350 with no guarantee whatever.....nope!  Trike the old girl. But the cost and finding time to do it were putting me off. Third option was to ring Nigel at NBS in staffs. and ask his opinion. So, it's parcelled up for tomorrow to go and see if it's fixable. Apparently the bits are available for rebuilds so I'll keep you all informed because it might be useful to others.  Unless you're all aware of NBS in which case I'll shut me gob!

John
