If I had some money I'd be bidding on that too! I hope turning it over hasn't filled the engine with chrome.

Funny though, isn't it, this chrome issue? I owned an early V7 700, and then a V7 Special, and neither had issues that I was aware of. I just rode them. Maybe because they were used regularly, the chrome didn't have a chance to flake. Or I was just lucky.

I think a lot of the problem is age and not being used. My Ambassador and Eldorado had chrome that wasn't flaking, but as they came from sunny LA to a soggy Cornwall I wasn't about to take any chances. The chrome was decidedly thin on the Ambassador and it had been standing for a good time. The Americans call chrome the ticking bomb.

Both nice looking bikes.Regarding the black one,he says that when the choke cable broke it left the choke fully on.It does not,it leaves the choke off. This suggests that he is a Brit' bike man and has been riding with the choke on before the cable broke.
A friend of mine has recently discovered that his Ducati 250 MK3 runs much better if he remembers that the choke lever works in the opposite direction to his BSA.

that probably looks worse than it is, looks complete so could 'just' be a mechanical going through and electrics.. ...  although as mentionned previously, shame they've turned the engine over..

yes i though that comment on the black one ref chokes was odd... nice looking bike... hmmm..

It is indeed a beauty. Judging by the height of the screen the owner must be about 6'10" tall!
Interestingly he's put a TLS front brake plate on the back wheel and the front brake needs attention.Look at those angles.

I didn't notice the front brake. I shouldn't think it's up to much adjusted like that.
