Just wondering if any forum members can offer advice on the best way to rig up a simple air blower for use when cleaning the bike, etc.
The thing I'm thinking of is the small compressed air blow tool that would normally be used to clean off dust, etc. from inaccessible areas of the bike.
I realise that I could pick up a small compressor with accessories from Screwfix for around £100 but am interested to learn if anyone has created something as effective without the noise that a cheap compressor makes when re-pressurising and also takes up less space. I tried a small piece of windscreen washer type hose fitted onto the nozzle of an old hair drier but there wasn't any real pressure to be effective. I've seen that electrically operated compressors are also available but these seem to be more for inflating things and again, I think they can be quite noisy too.
It will be for infrequent use only.
Be grateful for any thoughts.
Many thanks
David

The only thing that comes to mind is a "blaster dryer" which dog groomers use to literally blow the moisture out of a dog's coat after washing. They have a heating element too but you can use them cold.
This sort of thing.

My Karcher shop vac has a blow function as well as a suck function

May be one of those plus tape a cone to the outlet to speed the air up?

You can buy compressed air in aerosol cans; and I think (but can't find it on line) there are self chargeable air bottles you pump up with a cycle track pump (or just use an existing track pump to charge any suitable container)...I can get my track pump outlet up to 160 psi

Think out of the box i've used a garden leaf blower so it's dual purpose. Petrol or electric take your pick, petrol if your outside and have lots of leaves is best but slightly smelly two stroke and noisy.

I bought one of the pet/vehicle driers that Brian has mentioned. It works really well and gives a good blast, adjustable down and cold to hot. It's great for drying the bike and other stuff but I can't get it anywhere near the dog! LOL

Thanks for all the input, advice and ideas.
It's the high pressured, directional jet of air I'm after to clean out the awkward to reach parts of the engine and around the frame so I may have to go the small compressor route.
All input greatly appreciated 👍
