Good evening Bill.

My Lord and Master, young Mr Iceni prefers for his cucumber sandwiches to be cut into triangles with the crusts removed.

I find that I get a cleaner cut with the bread placed on the Ironing board set to the 3rd notch whilst place on a tiled floor.

He has mentioned that within the next year or two it may fall upon me to " Pre Chew " them for him but that is going to be dependent on the state of his teeth and my long overdue pay rise.

The foregoing, of course, is fantasy.  One has no idea how to prepare food, as, at Fook Hall, ones man prepares ones sustenance🎩

Nothing has changed for me. A six pack of Lidl’s finest ‘Salt Your Own’ - six for 75p. Nowadays the salt is in a sachet. I don’t use the salt and have hundreds of little sachets ready for the slugs in the garden - one for each.

I love them on brown bread with lots of black pepper. Likewise tomatoes on toast with brown sauce.

Each region has it’s own quirky tastes. Lots of scratching offered in West Yorkshire chip shops but rarely in Cheshire.  Always laugh when they ask: “D’ya want scratchin’?”

Or, dare I say it? A potato covered in foil with cocktail sticks of pineapple and cheese!

I gather it's a Yorkshire thing, so it would have to be Wensleydale? Eh Gromit?

Don't do pineapple, just the smell of it makes me want to throw up. Strangely, I recently discovered my daughter is the same. And she hadn't realised I was affected either.

Reminds me of an idea for a perpetual motion machine. A cat with a slice of buttered toast strapped to its back. The cat is then dropped. The cat will want to land on its feet, while the toast will want to land buttered side down. The result is a hovering spinning cat. LOL

Can't get fruit cake, but have just discovered a wonderful bakery up a maze of side alleys, and their almond cake, with a few slices of cheddar, and a cheese and ham flaky pastry pie were delicious, as is the bread.
It was a large old barn of a place, open plan with a counter in one corner and the actual work going on around you. Huge trolleys with stacks of shelves bearing serried ranks of pastries just out of the oven, and every possible kind of loaf on sale. The smell was enticing at 50 metres, and once inside, the atmosphere was --- well if there are kitchens in Heaven ...
There were dozens of other offerings, but all completely unguessable as to their nature or content.
The cheerful señora behind the counter pointed out a tuna and tomato pie, which I think deserves further investigation -- maybe without the cheddar.
She also gave me a honey and ginger freebie.
Er no, I'm sorry, it's all gone.
