Hi all after a bit of a struggle over the last couple of months the v700 is finally all together and after new amal carbs fires up and rides superbly, however (why is there always an however) it is so loud to the point of being very unsociable not only to my neighbours but SWMBO also, it came with a pair of chtome fish tail mufflers tgat are in very good shape and look good as well, but find something quieter i must so just wondered what others had fitted and where to find some please.

Regards Chris

Ps will get some photos up tomorrow really looking good (IMHO)

Thanks for the replies all, i will have a better look over the weekend Richard and see if the mute route could be possible certainly a cheaper option and worth trying initially.

Thanks Chris

You can get "packing" for an exhaust silencer. Back in the 70's a mate used to make exhausts before welding a megga he used the packing around the sides .....

2 Strokes if you did not clean the silencers often would sometimes light up the packing spectacularly maybe it was just being daft kids tho'

Chris. I have somewhere, a pair of 1967 V700 silencers and crossover pipe. They will not be very shiny and might even be damaged but they are original, very quiet and will be loads cheaper than new. No pressure but I'll have a search if you're interested. Phil
