Dear all, first of all a happy new 2017 to everyone!

I am now in the hibernation phase and - as announced last year - I am now thinking of having the bike resprayed for 2017 as the horse proved an entertaining and reliable companion.

After the experience of last year (see http://www.guzziriders.org/adam-bishop-horrible-experience_topic4336.html) I will be very careful in the choice of the workshop.

The work should not be overly complicated (simple respray in one-colour paint, which will be exactly the same as the V11 LM of the 2002 year, a colour I love). However, I am particular about a couple of things, which i find quite reasonable:

1) Absolutely bloody excellent quality. Multiple coat and clear coat, no orange peel, no colour that fades after a couple of years, etc.

2) The paint of my choice (I can buy the paint from lechler, having all the data, and give it to the workshop).

3) The Guzzi Eagle and Moto Guzzi writing paintbrushed in great detail (or with decal I can buy), but no amateur work like no detail or the eagle looking backwards on one side...

I live near Grays/Dartford crossing, Essex.

If anyone can give me some useful hint as to shops you recommend (or not recommend) I am all ears...  Obviously pm messages are welcome if anyone does not want to give his "review" in public.

Many thanks to everyone

Roberto

I can recommend Barnham Vehicle Services near Bury St Edmonds.  First class job, quick turnaround and plenty of experience of the correct finishes on Italian classics.  They do all the painting for Made In Italy, which I think is an endorsement of the standard.  I can imagine they might have their own idea of which paint they prefer to use though.

Did a nice job on my Ducati twin.

I trust just one person, and I travel from Harrow to see him in Maidstone...
"Because he's worth it"

Chris Tunner . Absolutely amazing work, best that I have ever seen, and never uses decals, its all done by hand.
Check out his website.

Many thanks to all for your kind answers!
Please keep them coming (and the photos!)

Has anyone experiences to share (via PM if you prefer) concerning the following shops?:

1. Boyz Toys in Brentwood (waiting for reply to my email).

http://www.boyztoyzunlimited.co.uk/

2. Paul's one-off customs in Kent (email exchange last year; very competent impression; competitive pricing; all booked until Mid-May, which is bad but also good at the same time ;) )

http://www.paulsoneoffcustoms.co.uk/

By the by, I have visited the madeinitaly webpage and I don't think I will able to sleep tonight...

Thanks again to all.

If you just need a regular replacement paint job you probably don't need to use an exotic (expensive) specialist.  I used a local car painter in Cheltenham (Dale Martin) for my Cali and he did a superb job, including painted stripes.

Beautiful work, Glawster, didn't know car painter would even touch bikes... is the same chap the one who also made the chrome on the fenders? They look mighty fine, too...

Thankfully the mudguards on the Cali are stainless steel.  An hour on the buffing wheel brought them up like new.
